Well, these past few days have been a riot. Pretty overwhelming. A few memorable incidents:
- Flat tire
- A 4-5 hour night of sleep
- Visiting my Compassion child
- Being welcomed by Valentina's church family and meeting her immediate family
- Having to guess which of 4 girls was Valentina - blindfolded!!! (Score.)
- Being able to be a part of Valentina's first taxi ride (I think) and first trip to the mall
- Staying with a wonderful host family in Barranquilla and eating delicious food
- Flying solo from city to city
- Having a 6-hour delay in the Barranquilla airport
- Meeting a lovely woman and speaking Spanish for a few hours or so during the wait (for our flight)
- Almost not having a ride home from the airport (this pushed my nerves a little over the edge after the delay and beginning to run out of phone minutes and all)
- Realizing that Colombia seems similar to Mexico, but if I express this to Colombianos, they often disagree
- Being told I have a lovely voice and pure accent while speaking Spanish (woot!)
- Being told I seem very self-sufficient and should have no trouble in Bogota (interesting)
- Realizing the temperature in Bogota is excelente when compared to that of Barranquilla
I know this isn't a terribly engaging blog post, but it's one o'clock in the morning and I want to sleep. If you want to know more let me know :)

Hey! You have no new blog posts? :(
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha. I know, I know, I need to write one. Sigh. This weekend would have been great, but I wasted most of it. Maybe I can get one written anyway...
